Benefits of Mediation, in a Nutshell

Greater Control - Mediation establishes and maintains decision-making control for both parties involved, instead of a judge or jury, while working toward a successful resolution.

It’s confidential - Everything in mediation is strictly confidential (unless agreed upon otherwise) unlike the potential publicity of court proceedings.

It’s voluntary - All parties agree to go to mediation and either party may withdraw from the mediation procedure at any time.

Convenience - The mediation is arranged at a venue convenient to the parties involved. The mediator can meet with each party privately and together, to hear everyone's views and help guide them toward a settlement that is mutually agreed upon.

Reduced Costs - Mediation is significantly less expensive in comparison to court proceedings.  Needless to say, lawyers’ fees and court fees are very expensive and add up quickly.

Faster outcome - Mediation can be scheduled at times convenient to both parties.  An agreement can usually be reached more quickly than those of court proceedings. The court system is a lengthy and unpredictable process.

Support - I am trained to work with difficult situations and will act as a neutral facilitator while supporting each party through the process.

Preservation of Relationships - Whether it is a family, friendship or business dispute, preservation of relationships is a huge benefit of mediation.
